Starting from a public meeting convened in June 2004 by a number of trucking enthusiasts and interested community members, Winton’s Diamantina Heritage Truck
& Machinery Museum was formed in July 2004.
From that time, our volunteers members were busy collecting vehicles from around our district, photos and memorabilia, and with continual fundraising and applying for Government Grant funding for the next 3 years Winton’s Diamantina Heritage Truck & Machinery Museum was officially opened in September 2007.
For every visitor there is a history lesson on how Australia’s transport pioneers carved a road transport network. We recognize the contribution of the men and women who drove and lived with these great machines of the past.
How can you best help our Museum - We are a registered Deductable Gift Recipient (DGR -1) and all donations to this organisation over $2.00 are Tax Deductable.
